2nd round?

Hi, I'm applying to dartmouth as a transfer student this year. I was just wondering if applying twice (i was rejected for freshman admission) shows more interest, or decreases my chances of being admitted. I am now a freshman in college by the way, so it will have been 1 year since I applied. Thanks.

where do you go now?

Honors program at UMass Amherst because of financial reasons...

To my knowledge, it doesn't really make a difference. One thing you might do is consider why your application was rejected in the first place. Is it an easy answer like: your grades/tests were too low, you had a horrible essay, or you didn't have any substantial extracurricular activities to speak of? Hopefully if so, you've corrected those this year. Colleges like Dartmouth have different criteria for transfer students- they want to see how the students have handled their first year of college. It can be overwhelming even for students who did amazingly during high school; if you've done well this year, then you know you're a good candidate. Also, since you're in college, you have a better idea of what you want in a college. This should make your reasons for Dartmouth even more specific than a freshman applicant.
