Is it true that the 2nd semester of senior year has no affect on admissions if you are applying RD. Do they ever ask the school for these grades, so as to decide on acceptence/denial of application??? Thank yo

They dont matter in terms of actual acceptance (the grade period is after colleges send out decisions). Some schools ask for End - Year School Reports, so the college you matriculate at will see them. Unless you do very very poorly, these grades should not matter.

However, if you are planning to apply to college next year as well, then any college would see all your grades, so its a good idea to do well this semester as well.

Yeah, they don't matter in admissions since the school can't see them, but if you drop below a certain GPA or do really badly in your classes (or if you fail anything, probably) then the school technically reserves the right to rescind their offer of admission. I don't know if there is a "cut-off" GPA or anything like that, but I would basically just recommend that you go ahead and slack off a little and be a second-semester senior, but don't let your grades drop below low-Bs or high-Cs if you can help it.

I hate this so much. I could slack my ass off and get all Bs probably with doing nothing. But if I did that, my GPA would drop enough to make me not graduate with top honors. But I've had such a hard time motivating myself to do any homework, since I know that these grades don't matter at all.
