I know nothing about the art world. D is a BFA candidate. I’m just wondering what the typical recommended pursuits are for BFA students to seek out, not so much internships, but summer art programs, perhaps residencies. And how do you find them.
Google pre-college art programs. You’ll find many listed. From there you can research some options.
Many art colleges have 4-6 week residential programs during the summer. My D attended Ringling’s pre-college program and loved it (she ended up attending there for animation).
@gouf78 - this is for a current college student, not hs.
What field are they going into? Often the student’s specific department will have alumni & networking links that will help students get internships by the junior year. They’re not really common for the summer between freshman and sophomore year (most of the where I work students just grab any jobs to make summer $). Also depending on the department, there’s often a mandatory internship junior year…and again usually resources to help them find one.
thanks @ArtAngst - you mind if i PM you?
Sure thing @lz57c4
