2year cc Rn vs. 4 year university BSN

Hello everyone

Nowadays I'm searching a lot of information about nursing

and best way to complete the process.

The are a lot of ways to become a nurse but I'm not really sure about their differences and good and bad parts.

as far as I now,

1) 2 year Community college RN course that require 2.5~3 years including the prerequisite.

2) 2 year community college pre nursing associate degree and then transfer to a 4year University.

3) 4 year University

So my question is

1) If I go through 4 year University, for 2 years, I need to work on the prerequisites and then apply to the nursing school?
If so, Is there a lot of possibility to get rejected by your own school?
If rejected, what are further options?

2) comparing CC 2 year Rn and CC 2 year pre nursing, What do you recommend?

3) 2 year Rn and 4 year BSN, What do you recommend and why?

Nursing jobs are getting more competetive, as are the schools. Best would be a 4 yr BSN where you are directly admitted to the major as a freshman. This would reduce the likelihood you would have to change schools after 2 years.

The Associate Degree in Nursing still can get you an RN but it would be tough to find a high paying hospital job. There is a push to require a BS in order to get an RN license (and a doctorate for NPs). My wife calls the 2 year degree the “nursing home” degree.
