My unweighted GPA is 2.6 and weighted is 2.7. If I get All A's the next semester what will it change to? I am applying for college and I need to bring up to a 3 before I sent all my information.

2.6 * 6 + 4(# of classes you have)

7

That should equal your unweighted GPA, so long as you make straight “A’s”

You would probably raise your unweighted by about .2.

My bad. The formula doesn’t work :/

If you have 6 classes and you get all “A’s”, nova2nola is exactly right. Your UW would be 2.8.

This works:

1) Multiply 2.6 by the number of classes you’ve taken so far in high school not including next semester.
2) Multiply 4.0 by only the number of classes you’re taking next semester.
3) Add the results from 1) and 2) together.
4) Divide that sum by the number of classes you’ve taken in high school INCLUDING next semester.

For example:
- If you take 6 classes per year, then so far you’ve taken 18 classes. 18 x 2.6 = 46.8
- Say you take 6 classes next semester. 6 x 4.0 = 24.0
- 46.8 + 24.0 = 70.8
- So you’ve taken 24 classes now. 70.8 / 24 = 2.95
So 2.95 would be your GPA.

In my state we take 7 classes so what are my chances now?

And freshman year I took 8 then sophomore and junior took 7

I come up with 2.938 unweighted as best possible scenario with OP’s numbers.
