Hey all I just finished 2/3 of my first year at an Ivy League institution, and while I did well during the first term, I did very poorly in the second term. I by no means plan on continuing this trend, but if I do, then what are my chances of getting into a respectable business school?

Thanks

The concern with a potentially low GPA would be lack of recognition by recruiters in a few years. B-school’s number 1 criteria is work experience prior to matriculation. With a low undergrad GPA, it will be harder to get the top jobs out of college, making it harder to get into top B-schools. A low GPA can also have a direct effect on admissions, but a lot of kids get in with low GPAs because they have great work experience. You can gain great WE w/ a low GPA; it’s just harder.

Umm it’s year 1 of 4. Your GPA has a lot of room to change…
