I have a really bad looking transcript at hindsight

but i'm in the top 10% of my class...

how will i bee treated?

Wow! I bet it takes a 3.7 to be in the top 10% at most schools. Duke must not have taken the time to notice your class rank (I read your other thread). But don’t worry because most school will consider it. Mention your class rank on your other thread. When people see that, I bet they’ll agree that you will be accepted at most, if not all, of the schools you mentioned. Good luck!

Unbelievable,
I am in the most famous school in China. In my school 3.7=50%
Quite Amazing

3.2 top 10%?

Wow.

Tell me the name of your school. I do not want my future son to work his ass off to get in top 20% instead of 10% in a very competitive school with 3.8 GPA.

grade deflation stinks :(

You should check the common data sets of the schools you are interested (section C). It states what factors are used in admission. Some schools will use class rank and not GPA, some will use GPA and not rank, some will use both. For those emphasizing rank you should be fine.

My top 10% is over 4.0. That’s absurd that yours is 3.2%.

^^ that seems liek grade inflation lol

yeah…there are 6 kids in my school with a 4.0 [all hyp material]

last year there were 5 [2 to harvard, 1 to princeton, 1 to penn, 1 to mit]

from what i hear, some of these schools have less work than my high school gives

Is your school Down Syndrome High ?

Just joking. Guess your class rank is to your FAVOR.

Well, is this a weighted or unweighted GPA? I’m pretty sure that changes things significantly. And how difficult is the curriculum at your high school? I am also in the top 10% and my weighted is only about a 4.1 cumulatively, but the Honors and AP level classes at my public school are recognized by colleges as more difficult than those at many local private schools.

…

I have a 3.6 and I’m not even in the top 25%…

My weighted GPA is 105.79 and I’m 43/400. I’m really only applying to SUNYs but am concerned that I’m not in the top 10% but actually 10.97% percent or something…which throws me into the 25% range. I hope it doesn’t matter.

Wish we were at your school. My S1 has a 2.9 and is in the bottom 10%
