3.2 Unweighted but can I still get into a good college?

I have a 3.2 unweighted gpa and It's mostly because of my awful freshmen year gpa. I'm not going to tell you a full length sob story because there shouldn't be any excuse to why I did bad, so here are my stats:

Penn State

Senior year I'm taking AP Biology, AP Calculus AB and AP Government. So I'll have 7 APS and 5 Honors by the end of highschool. I honestly don't think my gpa is a good reflection of my intelligence and as you can see my from my upward trend, I'm doing way better every year.

If there are any good schools you can see me at don't hesitate to mention :)

What can your family afford for college? Penn State, for one, will cost you somewhere north of $35K as an OOS student. You are fortunate to live in VA. There are many good schools you can get into (GMU for one).

Like Erin’s Dad says, you really need to nail down how much you can afford since you probably won’t qualify for any merit money. After that, look up the common data set for the schools to see what percentage of people with your gpa were admitted. There are lots of good schools, you just may not have heard of them.

The short answer to your question is Yes.

The somewhat Longer Answer – you’ll have to do some research. Here are a couple of tools:

[College Search - College Confidential](http://www.collegeconfidential.com/college_search/)
[A+ Options for B Students | Top National Universities | US News Best Colleges](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/a-plus)

I’m sorry, I don’t know much about the schools you’ve mentioned.

As far as VA schools go, William and Mary is a stretch, and maybe Tech. You are completely competitive for VCU, George Mason, probs James Madison and a few other VA schools. Cannot speak to your out- of- state choices.

Personally, I feel we have gone nuts— your grades are absolutely FINE and there are many schools who will be happy to have you as a student. Best of Luck.
