3.3 GPA: Where will I get in/

Hello everyone, this is my first post on the site! So I'm just ending my Sophomore year, with about a 3.3 GPA, and a 3.8-3.9 weighted GPA. I took all honors classes freshman year :
These were my final grades;
Pre AP English: B
Honors Geometry: A-
Honors Portuguese 1: A-
Honors Biology: B-
Honors US History 1: A-

Here are my final Sophomore year grades.

AP Language: B+
Honors Algebra 2: A-
Honors US History 2: A
Honors Portuguese 2: C+ (stupid teacher!!!)
Honors Chemistry: B

For my junior year, I tend to definitely try to step it up, my first two years I had some crappy teachers & slacked off at times with Homework & studying.

Here's what I'm taking next year:

AP Literature (sooo scared)
AP Environmental Science
Honors Spanish 1
Intro to Statistics (regular college prep)
Honors World History

I live in Mass, and want to go away to school in either NYU, or somewhere in Cali- some schools Im considering there: UCLA, San Diego state & private, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Berkeley, and others, San Fran, etc. Also considering Florida (Miami University, etc.)

What are my chances & where am I looking like I'm heading?? Can i bring my GPA up to at LEAST a 3.5? I'm in the Portuguese Club, Freedom Writers Club, Student Government, and Youth leadership Council.

IS AP Lit hard???

I know this is super long, but I'm really interested in college info!

Make sure you do great on your SAT/ACT and do a ton of ECs/volunteering to make up for your GPA, b/c if you don’t you have zero chance at some of those top schools (NYU, Berkeley, UCLA) and Miami University and Pepperdine wouldn’t be guaranteed either. So either improve your GPA or do great on all the other things

With your current GPA and not knowing your interests, some California schools you might want to consider - USF, Dominican of CA, U of the Pacific, U of Redlands, Cal Lutheran

would it make sense to take more Ap classes & risk GPA or take easier honors/regular classes to boost it?

Take AP classes you know you will do well in, say your good at history so take an ap there, but take other honors. Take electives you know your good at! Ap psychology can help you out, I’ve heard it’s not that difficult!
