3.76 enough to transfer to which UCs?

Computer science/mathematics/statistics majors

Are you attending a California Community College? If yes, How about TAG or TAP?

If that is your UC-gpa, I say you have a good shot in ALL the UC with those majors. I have a friend who got accepted to UCLA and Cal with a gpa of 3.5-3.6 computer science major (without tap). He didn’t have great extra curriculum but he did have an excellent personal statement. Also you must put into account on how many major prerequisites you have done for your major (try to do as many as you can), since that can also affect your admission to these top UCs.

As for the other UCs, I heard that they don’t really emphasize much on the personal statement as UCLA and Cal does, and they mainly look at your GPA. Just keep your gpa high and you should have a great shot.

Sorry i wasnt more clear. Yes im coming from a CA CC. Do you think UCB/UCLA/UCSD would accept me into either a mathematics/Comp engineer/CS undergraduate program?

This is a theoretical question btw… im already going to a diff school

If you have finished all your prereq classes, yes.

3.76? Nah, not good enough. You’ll be flipping burgers for the rest of your life.

Good shot to get in to most UC’s since you are a well candidate for TAG program if you have completed the requirements. As to UCLA and Berkeley, have EC’s and an awesome Personal Statement and you got a big chance.

UCLA has its transfer admissions profiles available, although the by-major listings are only available up to fall 2010:
[Profile of Admitted Transfer Students - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr/Tr_Prof.htm)

3.76 is above the average admitted fall 2010 transfer for math and statistics, but below the average admitted transfer for computer science and computer engineering.

Can someone please tell me what TAP is? I plan on transferring to Cal in the fall, I’ll have my IGETC’s and pre reqs for Sociology major done by spring. Is TAP the transfer program for CAL transfer students? How do I get in it?

Nevermind, I see there isn’t a program like that for CAL, no wonder I haven’t heard of any transfer agreement like this at school.

I have a 3.99999983 is that good enough for a CSU??

^ [sarcasm]Nope, even CSU East Bay requires transfer applicants to have a 4.0 [/sarcasm]

aside from the sarcasm, how competitive/rigorous is the political economy program at CAL?

Looks like I might have a hard time getting admitted into the UCLA’s computer engineering/science program. Average admitted is 3.8.

you knew you were already considering the typical 3, why did you make the thread title as if you were actually interested in UCI/UCD/UCSB/UCSC/UCR/UCM?
