I am a freshman at an IB school and have thus far managed straight A's while also taking the highest level classes available to me. When I reach my senior year, I plan to apply to the Ivy League collages in this nation. How will an this 3 day ISS affect my chances? Collage Forms ask the guidance counselor: "Has the applicant ever been involved in any disciplinary action from ninth grade forward that resulted in Suspension, probation, or expulsion?" From most sources I have looked at, an ISS counts more of as a detention rather than a suspension. I posed this question to Ask the Dean, and the Dean replied that ISS does not have to be reported. However, can any of you please tell me from personal experience if you have had an ISS and if you had to report it collages or not? Thank You!

What was the ISS for? If it doesn’t have to be reported then it probably won’t hurt you, but your counselor probably won’t write a good recommendation.
