3 Free Periods Senior Year?

So I'm really worried this is going to affect me getting into college. I have 3 free periods this year (2 technically and 1 practice period since my school is an arts school but they both give me 0 credits). It wasn't my choice though. I was signed up for AP Calculus BC but they canceled this class last minute because there weren't enough people signed up and put me in a free period. I'm taking AP Calc BC online, AP Bio, AP Government and AP Literature. Also I'm taking Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Music Theory 2 and Film as my elective. Will having those 3 free periods affect my chances at getting into college? I'm looking into Pepperdine University.

Thanks!

What is your intended major? If it is music, you would likely find that they won’t care at all as they will be far more interested in your talent. Either way, my advice is to talk to the admissions counselor at Pepperdine to find out what they think and what you should do.

If you are taking that AP Calculus online, you can do it from the school library during that “free” period.

I count four AP classes and four other classes. How many periods does your school offer during the day? From here I don’t see anything free at all.

I’m pretty sure three free periods are fine as long as you spend that time wisely and do well in all your other classes. You could tell your guidance counselor to write that you wanted to do AP Calculus BC in class but couldn’t in the recommendation if you’re really that worried.
