Writing SAT II-780 if that helps.

I heard pretty bad things about taking the SAT A THIRD TIME, so um... what do you guys think? Think I should just call it quits?
Mind you I'm aiming for universities such as: Cornell (mainly, I live and go to the HS right next to it, my dad works there... plenty of professors there probly will give me recommendation letters) NYU, UVA, U-MIchigan, John Hopkins, University of Chicago... stuff like that.
peace out =P

i think u can substiture the SAT II for some colleges, inclduing Harvard. Now it's 2280! great job!

lol hold on a sec...
"I live and go to the HS right next to it"
cross that off will ya?
I live next to it... AND go to the HS next to it.

guidance counselor said I can't...hmmn... I heard that as well too chen...

substitute* including*

what bad things have you heard about taking the SAT three times? I was thinking of taking it again in June and then in Oct.

u should contact individual colleges or check out their websites. guidance counselors don't know everything...

i think 3 times is still fine. If you're not satisfied with your score, take it again until you're satisfied. many schools just take the highest combo. i already took the Old SAT twice and took one New SAT and planning to take another one... that makes 4 tests right?

Harvard's website says: "We consider a student's best test scores, but it is generally our experience that taking tests more than twice offers diminishing returns."

I understand this as--they understand you may have had a terrible day and need to retake it, but after two tries, they become a little curious as to why you have to keep taking it.

Of course, this is only my interpretation. In the end, it is up to you. Your score is good, though! :)

i took the old one 3 times and the new one once. thats 4. i dont really give a damn how many times i take it as long as i get better each time.

I'm taking it AGAIN...so that will make a total of three times...and I'm gonna take the ACT once...that "3 times" rule is so dumb...If I think I can do better...why not take it again?

biomaster, u make me feel better about taking the new one again after taking the old twice. it sucks for our class with two different SATs
