on the upenn online app, it only allows you 300 characters for ur short answers but the common app allows 1000 characters...

is it better to do the common app since it lets you write more??

If Penn only gives you 300 characters, it's likely that that's all they want. More isn't necessarily better.

Yeah, I've been wondering the same thing. In all fairness, 300 characters is only 4 sentences! Maybe we should call and ask if is supposed to be more. I mean, between the lack of "2007" in the testing page and this, maybe there are a few flaws with the online app.

They are called short answers for a reason. Writing them is probably harder than writing an essay. So, I suppose you might just want to stick with 300 words.

its NOT EVEN 300 words tux- its 300 CHARACTERS (letters)

Wait a minute. 1000 characters is a lot compared to 300 characters and seems like an unlikely limit for short answers. Go with the 300.

Yeah, it's definitely supposed to be 300- that's what it's been in past years. They really just want a few sentences.
