30k college debt--should I worry?

WRJ seems a pretty sleepy little town, chances of it becoming Hamptons-ish or even a more low key art-sy town might be slim. Plus the focus here in VT is on whole food, sustainable living, organo-raw milk goat cheese kinds of stuff. No big boxes until you hit Burlington.

And with our new governor it looks as if we will be one of the first states to have low-cost across the board health care for everyone. We already have a pretty decent health care system, very good care if you’re not making the big bucks and health care guaranteed for all children under 18. But this looks to be more all-inclusive and will be very affordable. So maybe by the time you two get up here that’ll be in play. But of course remember that this is Vermont so as they say, please come but bring a job with you when you do!

^^response to the discussion a couple of posts up. Yes…those jobs are in NYC and yes they pay more than some other markets, but remember how much housing costs are in NYC. That nice salary doesn’t go very far. WRJ is sounding good to me too. If we can keep our little company going for the next few years while S2 finishes high school maybe we can move it all up to Vermont. That health care plan sounds awfully good. Right now we have a high deductible HSA plan. If one of us ends up needing serious medical care that deductible is going on a credit card. Far from ideal.
