32 ACT at an Ivy?

I have taken the ACT 4 times now, and I have a 32 composite, 33 superscore (Do Ivies even look at superscores??). I plan on applying to a few Ivies next year, namely UPenn, Columbia, and Princeton. Does that sound like a reasonable score for any Ivy? My older sister was accepted to Cornell with a 31, but her SAT was equivalent to 33.

Ivys don’t normally superscore. A 32 is alright and it shows your qualified but there are a lot of ppl with 33+ for Ivys so it’s a slight disadvantage. Your app will be evaluated holistically so your acceptability depends on more than just the ACT. If you don’t improve your score anymore, it’s fine but since you have the time try to aim for a 33+. These tests are standardized (meaning scores are normally distributed by how well you do in comparison to others) so you might find after now finishing another full year of classes that you’re better prepared than say someone who’s going to be a sophomore taking it for the first time. Also taking it at a familiar location where you’re used to learning (like at your HS) helps improve your concentration compared to a random testing center is because of something called context dependent learning. Also you could maybe take an short ACT prep class if your still concerned about it. You have a good ACT regardless I wouldn’t worry, try to focus on the rest of your profile tests easier to control (showing ECs, essays, grades) and you should do fine. Good luck!
