33 on ACT first try....what's next?

I have been drawn to these forums over the last few months searching for answers about my psat and act scores and I found them very helpful. This morning I decided to sit down and make an account; this is my first post.

I am about to begin my junior year of highschool and I have a few questions about my psat and act scores up to this point. I took the psat as a sophomore and scored a 201 with no prep which I thought was pretty good. I hadn't taken the act up to that point, but I looked at some charts and it seemed as though that would correspond to about a 30-31. I got back my first act about a week ago and I got a 33 first try with no prep! I was ecstatic! I really was not expecting that high of a score.

My question is in your opinion, do I have what it takes to get about a 210 on my psat this year and be a national merit scholar? and what could I expect to make on the act if I take it a few more times over the course of highschool?

P.S. If this makes any difference in your answer, here are my subscores for the act.
english-30
math-32
reading-35
science-36

I had a 202 my sophomore year and I got a 214 last year, without studying for either one. I doubt that the 214 will make national merit in my state, but if 210 is national merit in your state, I doubt that you will have any trouble achieving that much.

As for the ACT, I took it last June for the first time with no prep and got a 36. I think that it is very likely that you can make a 35/36 on the ACT after a few more tries.

Thanks khoitrinh.

And by the way, national merit is usually only around 207 in my state so I doubt i'll have much trouble. I just said 210 to be safe. =]

Unrelated, but if your state is underrepresented at top colleges, it could be a mini hook :).

Study for PSAT because Natl Merit is a very good thing! Assume nothing!!! Congrats on your ACT score!

I think my state probably is underrepresented, there aren't many ivy leaguers from oklahoma haha
