Hello , my question is what happens if you fail your 3rd year of spanish in high school?
See my son is on his 3rd year of spanih but having a very hard time, the rest of his classes are good, but he's currently failing spanishIII, will this really affect him?

It’ll make your gpa slightly drop.I had a hard time too at first but I managed though I got an okay grade I still passed and glad I got it done with.2 yrs is the minimum so he he wants t quit he can.
Good luck!

It depends on what colleges he is looking at. Failing a class will kill his chances at some schools/two years of language will be frowned upon, other schools probably won’t care very much. Any idea what schools he is planning on applying to?

According to UC a-g class requirements, it is recommended that a student takes 3 years of foreign language (and it has to be the same language) so if you don’t take/fail your 3rd year, then the admissions will look at that and they probably won’t like that as much as the next appicant who has. So, I mean it’s his call, but I think it’s better to take 3 years of language just from what colleges I looked at and how much farther it’ll take you in the admissions process.
