"cornell, for example, a 4.0 there (and i will admit it, because it is the truth) is vastly superior to a 4.0 at a CC. this is common knowledge."

As a reflection of workload I agree (but not wholeheartedly, because since I've never attended Cornell personally it would be silly to mindlessly accept the claims). But I wouldn't take it much further than that :)

The best defense mechanism CC students have when they encounter students with better vocabularies: do not recognize them for their superior vocabulary, but rather disparage them and hold culpable a character defect they must possess.

the best defense mechanism obnoxious students have when they encounter students with better personalities: do not recognize them for their superior ability to have friends, but rather disparage them and throw meaningless SAT words around so people stop responding bc they're too bored to continue reading their posts

Yeah the comeback was poop but you gotta admit that the, "You only said that because you're desperate, keep posting so I can laugh" thing is a little trite :)

It is very good to know many, many words, but it is bad to actually use many words that others don't know.

I am just a logophile. Many people, especially here, have trouble dealing with that.

Stevie, please be sure to tell me if there are any "SAT words" in this post. I will be sure to respond with definitions just for you!!!

Waha : )

Edit: I hope some of you realize that that was not an intentional attack against CC students, but rather an attempt to pull at TallKell's strings. I have been in a similar situation to CC students, and can empathize.

Edit II: And guys, except for 'logophile,' which you could probably define by analyzing its etymology, I have not used any abstruse words in this thread. These are words that one should know in college. Recall that the SAT tests one's ability to perform well in his/her first year of college. If the words I am using are "SAT words," and you do not know them, and you are in CCs attempting to transfer to top tier institutions, there is something wrong.

And why must you pull on my strings? I know relaying messages back and forth with me on this message board is the closest thing you'll ever get to a hot girl talking to you..but seriously, stop all the flattery..I'm blushing :)
