@bernie12 What do you know about the advantages and disadvantages of Emory’s 4 + 1 program in Cancer Biology:

@MyOdyssey Not much (as in I do not know much) at all, I will talk to my friend in the library about it as she is in it and then get back to you. One thing I remember her doing is working hard to get grant funding to support herself (because you are ultimately paying an extra year’s tuition). I’ll let you know, but cross that bridge when you get to it. Take some advanced biology courses that are considered on the more research or math side (such as immunology, any class with Eisen, Beck, or Nemenman) and/or graduate level Cancer biology I and see if you’re interested in such a masters which will require you to take more grad. courses and complete a thesis. I think it is ultimately a replacement for the former BS/MS program of biology (note how math and chem still have theirs)
@berne12 Thank you for the offer to ask your friend about the program. I’m especially interested to hear about how she went about getting grant funding for her year in the program.
