My school is basically block 1-5 with a common lunch block 3 ( only band students ever have class in this block) gr 11 might have an extra class, gr 12 spans block 0-6 at most. Usually with free blocks.
I'm always in awe of us student schedules. 8 classes a day? All ap? Do you guys ever feel at a big disadvantage? I know schools consider each country's curriculum etc. But it seems tougher to apply to top us schools..

I think they have 8 classes per year, not per day. So either it’s the semester system (4 classes per day, every day, for the term) or the block system (where one day they have a set of 4 classes, the next day they have another set of 4 classes, throughout the year).

So I don’t think their systems are any different from the Canadian ones. E.g. at my school we have the block system… we can take up to 10 classes per year, but most just choose 7-8 classes: we come to school late/leave early and perhaps have one spare block.

Maybe for most? I know of some old friends with 8 classes, short blocks though.

Oh… that is a bit strange. I don’t think it’s that much of a disadvantage though, since they would go through each class’s curriculum more slowly, and get less homework assigned each class.

Well i dont think its that big of a problem since thats something out of your control but so long as you take the most advanced courses available then its all right. But if it really bothers you, then you can always try taking extra classes at your local college which can be a plus in admissions
