4 credits of social studies?!

I am an out-of-state applicant (senior) and I'm slightly worried that UT Austin has a 4 credit social science requirement. I have only taken/planning to take 3.5 units.
9th: Regional World Studies
10th: US History
11th: Psychology 1st sem., AP Psychology 2nd sem.
12th: International relations 2nd sem.

Their website says: Select from anthropology, area studies, ethnic studies, economics (with emphasis on the free enterprise system), geography, government (civics), philosophy, social science, psychology, sociology, Texas history, United States history, world history, work/study programs.

I'm taking consumer ed first semester this year (since international relations is only a semester and I need consumer ed to fill my state requirement); does that count as social science? Or am I totally out of the question for admission? D:

We had a similar concern for my OOS son. I called UT, and they said he could make it up - I can’t remember whether they said online or at a CC. That was four years ago, anyway, so I suggest you call them and see what they say. It will work out.

Okay, thank you! I have just contacted them online; hopefully I’ll get a response soon.

Good! I wish I could remember more details. I think they decided that he had so much language (4 years Spanish plus 4 years Latin) that he didn’t need to make up anything.
