4 done, 3 more to go...

If I wasn't sure if my daughter was ready for boarding school before, I am now. She takes her sweet time with these essays but she has not whined once about fitting in the time to work on them. She is determined. I will be glad when it is over, though.

Anybody else out there still not pushing the button?

I haven’t pushed a button, but it’s my mom that needs to finish. :)

Ahh, the stress of last minute submission. Personally, it is my second favorite part of the process with actual admissions/decisions being the only thing to beat it.

Yes! Prepschoolhopes has it right! Good luck and you’re welcome to join Procrastination Nation… tomorrow.

DS finished over the break, but we decided to just let everything sit for a moment before pushing the send button. We re-read each application last weekend and made a few minor changes to most of them and some big changes to one of my essays. I’m happy that I did, because that essay is much stronger now and better supports what DS was saying in his. One thing that we tried to make sure of is that, on a school-by-school basis, everything that our kid wanted to say was said. There are so many overlapping essays and short-answers etc. that we lost track of which points had been made where. So for that one school, what I considered to be an important trait of DS’s was never mentioned. After re-working my essay we fit it in. Everything was sent Sunday night!
