5 year BS/MS...any difference

I'm looking into ChemE and since it's pretty split on whether or not people go to grad school I was thinking about doing a 5 year BS/MS. But do they look any different then if you had gotten them seperately. Is it truly like have a bachelors and masters or are there some downsides?

You will really, truly have a BS and an MS. You will probably save a bit of time, and a bit of money. BUT, you will not have as much room for elective courses. In fact, depending on the program, you may have no free choice of electives other than which foreign language or which phys. ed. course.

Look at the course requirements for a BS, followed a year or so later by an MS, and the course requirements for the 5 year program. You may find that you prefer one option over the other.
