5-year double degree/double major programs like Bard but somewhere warm?

USC encourages students to major and minor in diverse areas. It would not be hard for him to take music classes/ lessons from profs at Thorton, while pursuing a degree in Engineering. He would also have the ability to participate in all of the music ensembles on campus[ subject to audition of course] .DS [ also a pianist] took many piano lessons, and composition classes while pursuing a degree in Geophysics.

lmkh70 - that information is incorrect. I know a student who is double majoring in music and Economics at Rice right now. It is certainly allowed! However, it is definitely heavily frowned upon.

It depends on the studio professor. There are some that will not keep you of are doubling. And you cannot use the double as an excuse to miss any music or shirk practice time. It’s hard and not generally possible with sciences.

My S is getting a dual degree at Chapman U in southern California: bachelor of music & bachelor of science in math. The school reduces part of the GE requirements if you have a minor or double major. They offer free intersession in January so students can squeeze in an extra course. They offer substantial merit aid. Chapman was just ranked #1 in the West for up-and-coming schools by USN&WR. As a parent I can’t say enough about the school. They put a LOT into the students.
