I'm looking at probably getting involved with business and I know Vanderbilt does not have an undergraduate business school, but I just recently heard about their 5 Year MBA program. How difficult is it to get accepted into? And any other information people could share would be great.

First, I thought I read that the Engage program, which admitted select students directly into graduate programs at the time of their admission, had been discontinued last year. That may not be what you are talking about though. I do know that Owen (graduate business school) is highly selective and that they strongly prefer work experience before admission, as do most top notch graduate business programs. Two years work experience really does enhance your ability to assimilate the MBA experience.

My daughter is a senior at Vanderbilt and will attend Owen this fall via the Masters of Accounting next year. It is an exciting program with a paid internship at a big 4 firm and historically 85% or more of the class passing the CPA exam at the end of the program. I am not aware of many students pursuing the 5 year program at Owen, but you should explore if interested.
