50,000 attend Spring Football Scrimmage!

That's what I call school spirit. Following a 3-9 season, Michigan still manages to attract fans to a scrimmage!

At any rate, friends who attended the scrimmage told me that we now have a legitimate QB (we did not last year). They told me if Saturday's game were any indication, Michigan will have an offense next year.

Tate Forcier, a true Freshman, completed 10 of 13 (77%) passes for 130 yards, 4 TDs and no interceptions...and that's against a Michigan Defense that was much maligned all of last season and that has a major chip on its shoulders. He also rushed 5 times for 50 yards and 1 TD.

I also heard the Roundtree could be the next Mario Manningham and that our OL is markedly improved.

Of course, it is too early to tell, but the signs are positive.

That is not to say we are going to have a good season (by Michigan standards), but hopefully, a 7-5 season should be realistic.

Wolverines kick ass…wooohoooooooo!!!

-tate was good, but he had a no contact rule on him. so alot of the time when he was scrambling people would pull up so they wouldnt tackle him
-the OL was very good… we have like 8 people who could start
-there’s no way roy roundtree is the next mario manningham. he won’t be an outside receiver; he’s too slow. But he has good hands. He’ll play slot

as a note: tate and the 1st team offense was playing against michigan’s 2nd team defense (that was already without mouton, warren, mike martin, brandon graham most plays) so we shall see.

An 8-4 or 7-5 season sounds reasonable

Thanks for the feedback Andrew. A good OL is the first and most important criteria to a successful offense. It is early, but here’s hoping!

I hope Rich can pick things up this year. Hopefully, being able to pick his own recruiting class will help us (i’m officially a Wolverine) out a lot.

Go Blue!

wow~~ so coooool… wolverine rocks~~~~~

3-9 one season can’t erase the fact that they have the most wins all time and the best winning percentage of all time. Football has always been huge at Michigan, and hopefully they do well next season : )

It was a gorgeous sunny day, and I thought the stadium looked like it’s on the road to looking awesome.

Who knows you could have Greg Paulus throwing the football around…

That story just makes me laugh…Greg Paulus…

That would be interesting. He has the maturity and experience, which makes him a very compeling candidate. However, he has not played competitive football in several years, so his game may be off.

Yeah, people should not overlook him. He was one of the best QB recruits in the country in high school but he committed to Duke because of Coach K. He will be a solid QB.
