<p>I have a friend who got waitlisted at Vassar, Tufts, Northwestern. She got into Columbia, Williams, and Harvard. She's a freshman at Harvard now.</p>
<p>All of you are great students who will get in somewhere. Hopefully you were all smart enough to apply somewhere that will be begging for you (as everywhere should be).</p>
<p>Best of luck. I'm afraid to check my decision, two years of emotion will be over, probably ending in a terrible break up, haha.</p>
<p>Thx bethesda for your post. I think you're perfectly right, sometimes you get rejected or waitlisted by 2nd tier school, but hey it's a game that involves luck. for instance, I know someone who applied to the top 20, and got rejections from all ivies except Yale, ^^...</p>
<p>Well...I also got rejected from JHU (I think everyone did lol), but I actually feel very confident about all of my ivy choices because of it. I don't know, I just feel that the ivies, especially Brown, does a very comprehensive evaluation of the applicant to REALLY get a sense of who they are.</p>
<p>I mean, my stats. aren't the greatest, but I belive they are good enough. I think Brown will really see very unique things about me in the essay and my recs. At least I hope they do.</p>
<p>I am sure that you will get into a great school...One that will fit you perfectly, so don't agonize too much...You'll see that I am right. Much good luck to you. BUT...your reference to Hopkins admit rate shows the danger of not looking at the most recent available stats. The admit rate for '06 was 26 or 27%, and that does make a difference. Now, with 14,800 apps. this year, it is safe to assume that the stats for your class will be lower than that. Please, all. Take it upon yourselves to always get the most recent, first-hand stats...directly from the colleges. SO MUCH GOOD LUCK TO YOU. YOU WILL WIND UP IN A GREAT PLACE.</p>
<p>As the parent of a current freshman at Brown, would just like to say GOOD LUCK to you all!!! I remember this time a year ago. For those who get into Brown, congratulations-you will have an amazing 4 years ahead of you. And for those who don't, there is a school out there that will ge a great fit for you-you will be very happy and stimulated and I am sure you all will thrive. You will all wind up in a great place and be happy!</p>
<p>ahahaha, I got waitlisted at Hopkins, so add me to the JHU/Brown list! Brown is my dearest love and that is the only one i really care aboot, so ummmm yeaaaah, Broooooown, just let me in.</p>

<p>you guys i'm really glad we have each other. and i love the supportive atmosphere here. no matter what happens, just know that we were all in it together. and i'm having the worst nervous breakdown here but it's always the best feeling knowing you're not alone. </p>

<p>I got waitlisted at jhu so im also feeling that i cant get into an ivy...i guess we will have to wait and see.... about 6 hrs!!!</p>
<p>I am really rooting for you guys! The supportive atmosphere here is awesome, and in spite of the not so good news some of you got from JHU is great to see the optimism here!</p>
<p>I got my acceptance to JHU yesterday but Brown is the one that I want to really hear from!!! And as we have said so many times.... total crapshoot!</p>
