$50 million gift funds new building for convergent bioscience research at USC

<p>Gary K. Michelson, a retired orthopaedic spinal surgeon whose groundbreaking work generated more than 955 issued or pending patents worldwide, has donated $50 million to USC to fund the USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience.</p>

<p>This is the second to last planned academic building in the campaign, besides the University Village.</p>

<p>The next major academic building announcement should be the Interdisciplinary Arts Building.</p>

<p>Very much needed.</p>

<p>The USC Kaufman School of Dance is expected to begin construction in spring 2014 at last report. This is a multimillion dollar facility which will add to SC’s noted art schools.</p>

<p>The new Annenberg complex will be completed later in 2014. On the Annenberg website there is a video which gives a virtual tour of the building and state of the art features.</p>
