> 500 words

I got my essay to 486 words long (2 pages exact) after 5 grueling drafts. I have lived and breathed this essay for 3 weeks. I'm enervated.

I know, I won't annoy them by going on and on and on. :)

I just start rambling sometimes...yeah.

My essay is 803 words and 4400 characters. The text box cuts you off if you go over.

^ that's what I figured it would do, but I didn't really know since mine was only 4989 characters.

sent mine with 700 words

Brown's application specifically says your essay should not exceed 500 words. It doesn't say anything about being around 500 words or something that implies leniency - it says you shouldn't go over. I wouldn't risk it.

it says it should not, not may not though.

Do you guys think 560 is okay? :(

mellow you should be fine...it's not like you did 800 or something

yeah. mine was over 900.

all four of my essays were over the word limit but under the char. limit

my personal statement was 4,500 characters, and this thread just made my heart stop. the most important line of my essay is the last one.

well i guess it's really too late for me to be worrying about this now, eh? ugh.

Something went wrong with my online Brown app. All my essays were under the char limit (actually, exactly equal to the limit) but when I print-viewed the app the last 4-5 chars were missing from 2 of them. I just deleted some spaces, like after commas and such (hope they don't mind :D )
Anyway, just remember to always print-view the app before sending it, even if it says you were within the limit.
