529 account for a pre-college program?

Hi,

I’m a junior who lives in Virginia. I want to apply to a pre-college program that would give me college credits within the state but the only way I would be able to afford it is if we used my 529 education IRA account to pay for the program. Is that possible?

I am not sure if the final version of the new tax legislation has affected this. You may wish to ask in the general Financial Aid forum (in the list on the left) because there are people there who nerd out on that type of issue.

529 money can be used for post-secondary education costs. It would seem this program is for high school students, not post secondary students.
