As much as I loved Tufts and was hoping to go there, I feel like my FinAid has basically made it impossible for me to attend.

I'm a TRIPLET, and al three of us are going to college at the same time, and still my parents are supposed to cover almost all of to 57k? Looking more and more like UVa Echols or WM monroe to me...

Anyone else sad they do not have the FinAid for Tufts?

I posted on the other thread, but yes, I wanted to make it clear that anyone applying to Tufts class of 2016 should be serious about the EFC (and then some more). Tufts is a truly expensive school, regardless of these posts that say “we got a full ride.” I’m not sure what you have to do to afford Tufts, frankly.

Me too - I have full rides from Vanderbilt and BU as well as a massive scholarship from American. I really really really really really wish Tufts had some merit aid available. Just because we don’t qualify for financial aid doesn’t mean we can afford 57k/year!!!

Wait, where does it say that it costs $57,000 a year to attend Tufts? I thought the Financial Aid letter that accepted students received a couple of days ago said that Tuition/Required Fees + Room/Board = $54,474?

With the expenses of travel (I live quite far away), shipping costs, additional little costs that aren’t publicized, it ends up being more expensive than published… my brother went to college in the northeast a couple years ago and we discovered that there are lots of little costs that add up. Plus, Tufts tuition will continue to rise. In 2008-09, the total cost of going to Tufts was $48,470. Three years later, it is now $54,474. Therefore, I am factoring in the inevitable increase in tuition over the next four years.
