Hi all,
I am a math major considering doing a fifth year to finish a major in stats. I have most of the prereqs done except for 1 class, but if I were to fit all my requirements for both majors in one semester (fall), i would be taking 4 classes.
Currently, my GPA is below a 3.0, and so that is a problem because I intend to go to graduate school (biostatistics). But at the same time, I am not sure if spending the time, money, effort will be worth it, plus I gotta pay the bills and help out family.
My questions are:
-Would getting a degree an additional degree in Statistics + CS 61AB be worth it instead of getting applied math with a bunch of stats courses?
-Does GPA matter if I am applying after 2-3 years out of college for someone with a subpar 3.0 GPA?
-How employable would it be to be a math/stats major with a low gpa?
