Well, I am a junior right now who is taking 4 APs (Going to end up with all As this semester if I keep up the good work). Next year, I am going to take 6 AP courses
AP Chem
AP Physics C
AP Calc AB or BC (still deciding... leaning towards BC)
AP Spanish
AP Econ and AP Gov. (each a sem. long)
AP Lit

I only took the SAT once.... I am planning to take my next SAT on October, so I can practice over the summer. This June I am taking two SAT 2 tests: Physics and US History. I plan on taking my SAT on October and SAT 2 Math on November. BUT, I want to do early action.... Can I put "look at my November score for such and such" or "look at my October score for such and such" when I apply early action? College admissions will definitely stress me out. I'm doing a lot to try and "make-up" for the laziness in freshmen and sophomore year. I want to do 6 APs because it will look good if I get all As. Sigh... can someone give some advice?

Well, I’m in the same boat as you. I’m taking 7 AP’s next year and I also have to retake my SAT.

Here’s my advice:
Knock out all of the subject tests by the end of this year, so you don’t have to worry about them. (On June, I’m taking Chem, Physics, and USH and I already did Math 2)
Take the SAT in October
Apply EA in November and you’re set.

My schedule is similar to yours:
AP Calc BC, AP Physics C, AP Bio, AP Econ (Both), AP Comp Science, AP Lit, and AP World

You are a little bit behind in testing schedule but not too bad for applying EA/ED. Remember, the score is not only critical for the application per se, it is also important for setting up the list of schools to apply. Without your final/target score before Summer, you are likely going to apply some schools EA/ED in blind.
There is no reason to leave the Math 2 to November that it may be too late for some EA/ED schools already. Just sit another hour in June for the third subject test. You will be crazy when the school resume in Fall while writing essay, filling up application, checking with teachers for recommendation, and taking 6 AP classes. Don’t count on taking multiple tests in October and November. If you need the November score for EA/ED and if the school accept November score, you need to submit the score directly to the school. If you wait for the score before submitting the order, it is likely too late even for the school that would accept November score.
Have you signed up for any SAT1/ACT for May/June? Try to get these primary test scores done as soon as possible. Taking SAT2 in June is good, but it is not essential if you have a good ACT score except for a dozen or so schools. Without a valid SAT1/ACT score before Summer, you will not have a good game plan for EA/ED.
Taking 7 AP (you count it wrong) in senior is fine if you can bare the work load. You need to make sure there is no schedule conflict in the AP exams (that happen occasionaly) and you can maintain your grade. The last thing you want is got rescinded from admission due to a failed class in senior year.

Hi, I’m a junior too. I just took a SAT , AP Chem, AP Lit, and AP Calc AB this past week. I’m taking Physics B on monday. My advice for your schedule would be to take BC Calc (AB is a complete joke). Chem, lit, and physics aren’t bad a all but next year it will be physics 1 & 2 not B & C (neither will have calc). As for span gov and econ I’ll be taking all of those next year so I couldn’t tell you how those are. I’m no college admissions expert, so I’m not gonna pretend to know what you can make up for and what test scores you’ll need. As long as you try though everything will work out. peace :)>-

That info on Physics is inaccurate. Physics B will be replaced by Physics 1 and 2. As far as I understand (you should check the college board site) Physics C will be continued.

I recommend you take math2 in june. Do you even need to take physics? Maybe you can just take math and US history and be done with it. Check the schools you plan to apply to–do you really need 3 exams? The last thing you will want to do next fall is study for an exam you don’t need to take.

So for subject tests that correspond to APs such as Chemistry, Lit, Physics, etc., take the subject tests in May or June around the AP time. It sucks, I know, but you won’t have to completely re-study for the tests and you’ll thank yourself. For the SAT I, take it in the Fall when you’re not worrying about APs yet.

When you say AP Econ, do you mean macroeconomics and microeconomics? If so, that’s 8 AP Exams, which is probably a few too many.

Sorry if I was wrong about physics, that was just what my guidance counselor told me. Maybe he was just talking about our school. Anyway I’m sorry for the inaccurate info, I wasn’t trying to mislead anyone. As for 8APs in two weeks its a lot but I’m gonna give it a shot too next year. Best of luck

Haha its just macroeconomics guys
so its 7 APs. Taking Physics and USH this June and Math 2 on November. SAT 1 on October (so I can get a solid score by studying over the summer) and then apply for Early action. Thanks for the help and support guys! Good luck
