60 units. or 75 units

I am in Community college right now, and because I am not willing to relocate for school my options are CSU LA and UCLA. I have a 3.8, I was going to apply for both but i just found out the have different requirements, meaning I’d have about 5 extra classes that I’d just throw away depending on the school i get into.
At least this is what my counselors told me.
I called UCLA and they said they don’t care, all they want to see is a completed IGETC and that if you get in THEN you can have your transcripts evaluated, they do not do that for nonstudents. I specifically asked about the AS-T (Associates of Science Transfer) and would that make me eligible to apply. My school literally told me to apply, 60$ Letters of rec, essays, just to see if i have all the classes.

My question is, IS THIS TRUE? do you really have to take an extra 2 semesters of work just to apply for more than one school? And any advice on what to do, I am talking with the dean of counseling at this point and the list of classes i have left to take just keeps growing every semester, I literally beg him to just be upfront.

What community college and what major?

You can check which courses count for which requirements using https://www.assist.org/ .

definitely possible depending on what you’ve taken and what the requirements are for the major you’re trying to get into.

your question does not make sense. you need to complete the requirements thats it
