Hey guys, this is my first post on cc but i've been here for a while. I have a question for all those that have been scoring high 700's or 800's.
I've been getting in the low 700's in most of the practice tests I have been doing. I get anywhere in the range of 3-8 mistakes in the whole critical reading section, usually in the comprehension questions.
What do you suggest I do to make this less. My goal is to get 800, as I'm doing well in all the other sections.
So, for anyone who has improved from the low 700's to 800, what would you suggest?
I already have rocket review and the blue book. I've done the blue book and the 11 SAT's from PR. The only remaining ones are the ones from the online course . Is it possible with pratice to get an 800 on the june SAT?
Any recommendations and greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

I bought Barron's 2400 a week before the March SAT and raised my verbal from 620 to 720. It really helped me by focusing on the reading comprehension. I think I only ended up getting 0 or 1 wrong on the actual SAT reading comp. part, which seemed easy after doing the practice sections in the prep book (only the hardest problems are in the book).

I can't promise that it will work for you, and I haven't used any other prep books, but you should look into it.

take a lot of practice tests, and go over the questions you miss extremely carefully. see if there's any pattern at all in what you miss. like if you usually miss contrasting the two authors then you can work on that. if your problem seems to be overanalyzing the choices, you'll know.
also, when you're only missing a couple it could just be you aren't careful enough, so just try to find out why you're missing what you are.

Hmm. thank's for the advice. I will look into the Barrons 2400, but my current barron's experince hasn't been good. I have the big barron's book, it hasn't really helped me much.

And thanks, VeganActress, I'll start analyzing my mistakes more carefully. I've only looked at them before, but I haven't been able to find any pattern. Even in the skills report from the online course, my mistakes are usually in different categories, and I can't see any general pattern.

I've taken up the Critical reading advice in rocket review. Has anyone done the rocket review and gotten a 800?
and any other advice will also be appreciated:)

Thanks
