Does a 750 in as a floor score for math and science SAT IIs hurt when applying to MIT/Caltech? That is, if the other scores were 790/800/800, and the SAT II was taken before the AP year, would this put someone SATwise in a lower tier of applicants or would it just be not as heavily scrutinized? This question might sound dumb; sorry, I'm tired on the East Coast and it's time to nap.

actually, yes, that question is pretty dumb...not one university would put you in a "lower tier" just because you have one SAT II score of 750, which is an amazing score on any SAT II

don't worry about it, one of my friends got into MIT with a 690 in the physics SATII

And I got rejected from MIT with an 800 on the Physics SAT II. Your physics score probably has such a small bearing on your acceptance that it's not worth worrying so much about.

ye.. ur score is just one part of the app process.. and 750 is still quite good!
