And the Sippon’ On Purple site says:

[Northwestern Wildcats 8, Syracuse Orange 6: Women’s lacrosse champions again! - Sippin’ On Purple](<a href=“Northwestern Wildcats 8, Syracuse Orange 6: Women's lacrosse champions again! - Inside NU”>Northwestern Wildcats 8, Syracuse Orange 6: Women's lacrosse champions again! - Inside NU)

And I saw highlights on Sports Center this morning! Imagine that! :)

The minor upset that eliminated Florida definitely helped. We had no answer when we played them during the season.

I saw them play at Stanford (first game for BOTH teams, I believe) and I am really happy the NU women had a successful year - they seem like a great group of students and we KNOW the coaching is outstanding!

Here’s the best part: ALL THE PURPLE PRIDE ON LONG ISLAND FOR THE FINALS!

I am from LI and when I went to NU (I was class of 84), hardly anyone knew about the school from LI. Now because of the women’s lax team, tons of kids (especially the girls) want to go to NU. The NU tailgate at Stony Brook for the finals was awesome. So much purple! And I don’t know if there were many alums at all - just a lot of local people who were cheering for NU.

So happy I went. Great to see all the fan support (for more than just football!).

LINYMOM,
I am originally from Long Island and if I hadn’t been at an out-of-state wedding that weekend, I would have gone to the finals. There was a article in the NY Times a couple of weeks ago about Kelly Amonte Hiller running her lax camps on Long Island where much of the lax talent is, so all the young girls want to grow up to be NU lax players. There were tons of them there cheering on NU.
