I just took the test in the SAT Preparation Booklet, which is a previously administered test, so you can get a definite score, and on the CR section, I got NONE wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually thought a few of the passages and questions were very difficult, and guessed on a lot of them, but I got an 800 with NONE wrong and NO omits! OMG OMGOMGOMG OMG OMG I BETTER do this well on the REAL test next Saturday!!!!! BTW, my previous CR was 740, which I took sophomore year.

Got a 700 on writing, and a 670 for math on the pretest. :( Well, hopefully I can get 800 on the real deal, and then perhaps 680 on math, and then 720 or so on writing, and that will be a 2200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow congratulations.. i think i can get better scores if i new more words..
i hate vocabulary.. i score like 550 or 600 i dont even know but i believe i can get 700+ hopefully!!!!!!

I find reading very helpful, obviously. For the next week, I'm going to read articles from alot of those magazines like the Economist and Smithsonian. Vocabulary...just look up words you don't know whenever you come across them. GOod luck.

Lol, don't let them rain on your parade. Getting an 800 on the practice test is fantastic and is a good indicator that you will do well on the real thing. But remember not to count on doing quite that well on the real test, I think to some extent getting an 800 is a matter of luck... I never scored 800 on the practice tests (like Eli, I was scoring in the 700s) and then on the real test I got an 800.

what helps is to slow down and to just forget everything you knew about anything (minus vocab) when reading the reading comp, because that helped me to do a lot of those questions, because what i read in the article wuld conflict with what i know, and i will end up forgettign exactly what the article said and get the question wrong -.-.

congrats on the perfect practice test. One time I looked at all the answers in the back of the book and I too got an 800. rock on! (i'm being facetious).

Yeah, I guess I did get pretty lucky. I guessed on a few obviously, on which I could eliminate all but two. On the last practice test, I got a 670, but on the real one a year ago, I got 740. I'm a pretty good reader with a decent vocabulary though, compared to what I've seen at my school at least. I hope to score at least 750.

A tip that I used, which my twin brother (who got an 800 on CR), told me was to just think that you WILL get a 800. Throughout the test, just think, oh its just reading some passages and answering questions. All the answers are right in front of your face! That's what I thought throughout the test, and ended up with an 800 on the practice test! Obviously just psychological, but a big confidence booster!

Oh, I tried that in 7th grade, and ended up with a 620 V and 680 M, it didn't really work out too well for me. But evidently the 1300 in 7th grade won me a spot in 20 of state and a nice pretty award. :0
