90-days SAT Literature Study Plan? Test in October

Could you please give me a rough study plan? I know I should read hard stuff, but I'm not sure what writers I should be reading into. I would appreciate it A LOT if you could help!

BTW in case this helps, as per the four BB tests I've taken, my Critical Reading scores average at 610-690.

Critical Reading and Literature aren’t THAT similar. I think literature is the hardest SAT to study for cause you can barely study for it. Go over a few literary terms. (The one’s that come out in prep books don’t all come out, half of them doesn’t even come out.) And just read and learn to analyze efficiently. Read… well literature?? something like Dante’s Inferno and get yourself a book of HARD poems haha… idk what else I can say… I might retake mine if I feel like it in November…(I got a 600 in May LOL) good luck!

I would like some advice on studying for this as well! I’m thinking of getting the Barron’s practice book, but I heard Kaplan and PR are good as well. What are some works and authors I can practice with so that I become more familiar with the types of literature covered on the exam? It takes me a while to interpret Shakespeare and similar writing, should I spend time reading Shakespeare and translated versions?

Barron’s is really good. It’s harder than the actual test so it will be a nice surprise on test day. Also, Barron’s has a lot of practice tests (like 6 or 7) so you can really read a lot of obscure 18th century poems before the test.

I started studying a month before the June test with Barrons, first reading through the book then doing practice tests, and I managed to score a 750 on the test. Granted, I read a lot of older books for fun but I really think the Barron’s helped.

I used McGrawHill. I didn’t like the books that asked too many questions on literary terminology, which rarely comes up on the actual exam.

I bought Kaplan too, but got lazy and solved maybe a couple of the tests in it.

I think the best practice for me was actually taking SAT Lit. :P
