^_^ Hello, friends. I wish to transfer to a Southern Cali UC and I have a 3.1 GPA.

Hello everyone! My name is Jerry and I live near San Francisco, California. I currently go to a community college, and I have a 3.1 GPA, with what I have been counting 4 W's. I am in my commununity college's MESA program (a program known as "Mathematics Engineering and Science Association). I have been studying very hard now ever since I graduated high school, and now I am halfway to my goal.

I honestly would like to hear my chances. I am 20 years old, Filipino American, and I love rock music. I have worked very hard to earn a 3.1 GPA and I wish to major in Biochemistry and UC San Diego, UC Irvine, or UCLA. I have been looking through this site and I have been wondering of my chances of being accepted (Which I know my chances are close to "medium"). I honestly do not want to transfer to a California State University in Northern California, like San Jose State or San Francisco State, for "personal" reasons, namely I want to learn how to take care of myself without being so needy to my parents.

Thank you everyone. By the way, I am taking Chemistry 1A, the Biology classes, and Pre-Calculus this semester - so my "real" classes are beginning now this year of 2009. And I feel so accomplished. I want to be wished luck in my future. I want to become something I have never thought I could become. I know my chances, I just want to hear from the point of view of others of my chances.

Your best bet is going to most likely be UC Irvine, and maybe UCSD.

UCLA is, unfortunately, a long shot. The average transfer accepted student this past year had a GPA of 3.68. Biochem is also impacted at UCLA.

Here is where I got my info from.

Best of luck!

Yes! =] I just wanted some kind of assurance. I know my chances at UCLA are really slim, afterall it is the UC Berkeley of that area. I just wanted to know a few things over the UCs down there so I can at least know where I’m at. =] Does anybody else have any advice/suggestions for me It would totally help me.

I think most likely ivine, cuz one of my friend with 3.4 gpa got rescinded from UCSD with biochem major…

good luck

i hear the UCs give preference to people who love rock music. you’re a shoo-in.

Riverside is in So cal
