Hey guys.
I just applied to UC's for Fall 09'.
I have a current GPA of 3.87 and my Major is Math/Economics.
It is not Plain Economics and so it is not an impacted major. I am a current member of the honors club and am an honors student. And i am enrolled for the TAP.
I work 30+ hours a week, and i have mentioned it all in my Essay.
So i was wondering if you guys could rate my chances on a scale of 1-10 for UCLA.
I am hella anxious and any reply would be highly comforting and appreciated.
I spoke to UCI representatives and they told me that my chances of getting through UCI are next to 100%.
THx

Also i was wondering if you guys could tell me which Out-of-state colleges should i apply to, as i believe that their deadline is not anytime soon.
So yeah any out of state colleges.
I am actually considering a major involving math and economics and not just plain economics as they improve my chances of getting admitted into the colleges.

If you can finish the major preps before transferring, you should have a decent shot (8/10).

no way youll be rejected to irvine.. for UCLA i say 8.5-9 because of the solid gpa PLUS TAP..

you are from norcal, judging by the fact that you used "hella"?

i think northwestern and michigan are good choices as well, depending on your SAT scores

Dyu need SAT for out of state?
my 06 SAT scores are pretty bad.
1980 :(
Also, i goofed up in my chem class this semester, and got a silly B, got my GPA down to 3.76, so if i do take the same class at another college, over the winter session, and if i get an A on that, then will they overlook the B, and not count it/ and count the A on my Winter Class?.
I really need that info, cos if that wont help, then ill end up travelling to LACounty 20x tmes for no reason whatsoever.

Btw I is from Moorpark, Ventura.

9.9/10 for ucla

Hay I'm really curious whether schools overlook at the better grade if a course is taken twice, but at different cc's?

no. [10char]

I was Math/Econ at ucla when i applied.

99% in for UCLA.

Your gpa is above average for the major and the major accepts a good portion of applicants. And you work so that is another plus

Thank You for your replies.
It was really nice to get info from someone who has had a math/econ transfer background.
The chem class that i took at my college was a 6 unit course, and i screwed up in it.
And now the Same chem class that i will be taking over the winter session is a 5 unit class, and not 6.
If i do get a A then, will the UC's ignore the B? and do i haveto mention it to UC that i got a B?
Thanks alot
