<p>jym, the feds instituted a cap beginning in 09-10 … theoretically 9 years (18 semesters), but it’s really 900%. If a student receives 75% in a year, then the timeline extends another 1/4 year … so it could be more than 9 years.</p>
<p>I think that one of the things that some posters are overlooking is that many of these schools position themselves as a majic bullet for those who are undereducated and underemployed in this economy to get have a better lifestyle. A Berkley or Monroe college will advertise on the train that “You want a Better Future. Start Here”. There certificates can get you a better job." The prospective student thinks that if they go to Monroe ro Berkley college that it will immeadiately lead to them to a job making more money just by simply attending.</p>
