A 38th AP?

Some of the other languages maybe? (e. g. AP Arabic)

I also agree with some others have said for math courses beyond calc BC (e. g. multivariable calc).

I’d like to see more Arts, Science, and Mathematics.

AP Ancient Civilizations (History course, focusing on history up to ~500 common era)

AP ARABIC!

I’ve had to stop my arabic classes (went up to arabic 4) because there wasn’t an ap…

The problem with AP Differential Equations is not that you need Calc III so much as you need Linear Algebra. Pretty much everything above 1st order linear differential equations requires some Linear Algebra. Although, I’m in college now, and I’m taking a course that combines Linear Algebra and Differential Equations for two quarters, so I suppose it would be doable.

The only big thing that you need Calc III for in Differential Equations is, I believe, partial derivatives (for partial differential equations). However, I’m not 100% sure that’s the only thing.

Multivariable Calculus I think is the only math that makes logical sense to put in. I’m sure there would be students who take it.

AP Linear Algebra, Perhaps.

I finished BC as a Jr in HS. I think Multi-variable Calc would be a good idea, although there would be very few people who would be taking it.

AP Asian (Art) History would be nice!
AP Philosophy
AP Women Studies <—they should definitely have this one!

Also, there was a good thread on this earlier:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/763766-lets-think-ideas-new-ap-courses.html

Oh sweet, I saw this thread and thought to myself, “I made this over the summer,” and look, the most recent post links to it!

I do like AP Music History, AP Asian History, AP Anatomy, AP Sociology, AP Web Programming, and an AP Physics C course based in thermo, fluids, waves, and modern. I would support AP Calculus being expanded to cover some statistics that involve calculus.

I don’t think that courses like AP Organic Chemistry and other AP higher-level math courses would work well, as there would not be enough kids with the knowledge needed to take them.

I would strongly support AP Problem Solving or AP Sets and Logic. There is almost no emphasis placed on these in U.S. high school math classes. The level of mathematical prowess needed to take them is certainly available to the average high school student, and they would foster critical thinking skills that would have wide benefits outside of math.

Plus, they really do gauge a student’s ability to do math.

Is there any probability work involved in high school math as generally undertaken by US high schoolers? It seems to be mainly focused on algebra, geometry and what comes out of them (e.g. calculus), whereas IB Math, especially HL, covers quite a bit of probability and set work.

^ AP stats is the only class…

Definitely gotta vote AP Accounting.

Also, a revised AP Geo (as in, more physical Geo), AP Sociology (which is basically AP Human Geo now…), AP Anatomy/Physiology, and AP Business Law.
