Would a B in organic chemistry hurt my chances of admission into a good medical school if all my other science courses are A's and if I got A's for chem 1 and 2 and organic chem 1???

Well, if all your other science classes are A's and you're at a decent school, then your gpa is probably so high that one B really won't make much difference. That said, if you're merely planning this out in theory, then I would caution you that getting A's in all your intro sciences is no easy task, and something you certainly should not take as a given.

Thanks so much for that info! The grades I listed for the chemistry courses are courses that I actually took (not theoretical). I guess I'll see if I have time to retake it and also how I fare in the other science courses...

Honestly, don't bother retaking it. Even retaking a C is questionable.

Unless your school is really strange, you cannot retake a B. Like they simply just will not let you.

You need to calm down and realize that grades are not the entire equation.

And even if they were, a B would be a good grade in the context you've given.

Is it me or do we meet the most insane/anal people on this board?

Haha. Obviously premedical students have very high thresholds to worry about, and of course those that seek out advice are going to be among the more nervous ones.

Yep. I think I'm gonna have to stay at Cornell for an extra year to retake all those B's I got :)

(no offense to the OP. we just get some super super nervous posters on this board)

I am super nervous about that grade, I guess I'm more nervous that usual because it's the first B of my life (I'm not trying to brag), and I was expecting to get an A (the professor told me I'd be getting an A) and then I got my semester grades in the mail and got a big surprise... I also took these college courses while still in highschool (took that one this last semester while I was still a senior in highschool) which adds to the pressure because I didn't want to take courses "earlier than needed" and then get bad grades.....

Wait, why did the prof tell you you'd be getting an A? Have you double checked with him to make sure everything is correct?

because my final grade is like 89.4

I'll be checking in with him next week to ask him about it

Again, I want to emphasize that a B+ is actually a very good grade. However, if the professor actually told you you'd be earning an A, I recommend looking into it.

thanks for your input
