it’s more of a blog POST, although technically its the first post of a discussion thread. is anyone else stressed out about how they’re gonna pay for the transfer if/once admitted? I’m like on tenterhooks trying to get a bank loan approved. No loan means I’ll have to try again next year because I’m getting my interview in july and possibly greencard in october (yay!). I wish obama would bail me out.

lol yeah I am stressed out too, I hope aid will be good. But I will wait until I am accepted first.

meh, i guess if i can’t get a loan this year, i can just call up the school and ask them to defer my acceptance if possible and make them feel sorry for me when i reapply next year. argh if i could write a letter to my 14 year old self it’d be like “get a 99 avg, win a bunch of national competitions, and apply to every damn scholarship out there!!!”

lol yeah I don’t know I am going to do if I don’t get in anywhere.

Castiel, that is my biggest fear right now. Don’t think I’ll have the strength to apply all over again…plus I really don’t like my school, so the “stay here, apply next yr” wisdom does not work for me. Le sigh.

I completely understand what you mean. I can’t stay at my school either next year so I will have to transfer out, and if I don’t get in anywhere I would really not like to go to comm college back in florida, because I know I won’t like it.

And I tell me about it, the application process was so difficult, why does it have to be this way btw are you french?

Haha no I’m not! I don’t think I could get away with bastardizing their je to ja like I did on my nick. But I’m completely obsessed with the language and culture (yeah, I’m pretentious like that lol)

IT was such a hassle to get my transcripts sent, the administrative ppl at my old school were not very helpful or cooperative ended up massively delaying EVERYTHING.

when will your decisions be out?
Well then, I hope you get into the school of your dreams! You deserve it.

haha that’s really cool! French culture seems awesome, haha. I really want to visit Paris one day (my study abroad friends are enjoying it).

Aww that really sucks about your old school I am sorry. I hear a lot of that, it just makes the process harder. and more annoying. It was so much work to do these applications…

mine will be two schools in mid april then the rest in may. Thanks!!! That’s really nice of u to say that. How about you? Where did you apply?

I think most of us hear in May. I’ve got one place that should let me know within the next couple of weeks, but the rest in May.

Oh, May, where art thou?

As of now, my main concern is waiting to hear from Vanderbilt on the 15th. If I find out I’m in, then I’ll be pretty relaxed about the rest of the decisions. At that point I’ll at least be assured I can go to Vandy (which is a great school!) so if I get rejected from other schools it won’t really matter. But my fear is that if I don’t get into Vanderbilt, then I may be screwed at the rest of my colleges, and might have to stay in my current school for another year :(.

haha May can’t come soon enough. I just have to know already!

fmhcbc: Yeah my thinking too. If I don’t get in Vandy(which has a 50% acceptance rate!) then I probably can’t get in anywhere else. But! If i do get in I will scream of joy. (i got rejected RD in high school).

Castiel, are you on the ‘Transfer book’ contacts list? Because I emailed you guys about my info and the schools I’ve applied to etc.

good luck linala, I think i’ve one in Mid-april too, but it’s still missing my college transcript!!! I hope they arrive by end of March or I will sue my old college with the very little money I have in my bank account ($50).

i think i just blew my chicago interview. i can cross it off my acceptances list…i had a freudian slip and mentioned “northwestern” by accident. it was very ugly. headdesk
and yes vanderbilt is the mighty litmus of acceptance/rejection lols.
ugh i blew two interviews already…headdesks again i was so much better at interviews last year…
okay, i will stop ranting now >.<

Jamapelle, call them. I had to call Amherst just yesterday and ask what was going on with my transcript. The nice lady over the phone put me on hold, then said “Okay, we’ve got it. Your application is now complete.” (Completely unrelated, but since your a francophile, have you heard/know Notre Dame de Paris? I’ve just downloaded a good bit of the music. C’est belle!)

yeah I am on the book thingy! But I didn’t get an email, hmm. would you mind resending it?lol aww jamapelle, can you re-send them? And yeah tell me about low finances, I am 18 years old and managed to rack an astonishing 25,000 dollar debt. NYU became too expensive, i just can’t afford it.

melonbread: aww I am really sorry!! If it helps, interviews are not that important from what I hear. Also, freudian slips are sexual lol, I didn’t know you and northwestern had a thing. jk. and hey at least you had an interview! I haven’t been contacted by anything. :"(

@linala: amherst decisions come out mid april? but my bio midterm is mid-april…
and all my transcripts got to my schools a few days late because it takes a friggin month to process a sheet of paper apparently. my hs sent out my transcripts the day after i ordered them lols. talk about a disparity in efficiency.

castiel, freudian slips are not always sexual in nature, they’re usually from lapses in attention. i was feeling pretty good about my northwestern app during the interview lols. also sorry to hear about your debt, nyu is pretty notorious for bad fin. aid. hopefully you will get awesome financial aid at the places you get accepted into.

jamapelle, my uncle’s a postgrad at harvard law, so he can represent you for free or very little money ($25). or i can pay your fee from my scholarships, but you better win so you can give me 25% lols.

melonbread, Amherst is mid-May. Did I say April? Sorry. Don’t worry, you still have time! You’re applying, too?

I’m waiting to Hear from UNC-CH (and UGA, but, not so much haha) and I’ve made it into Clemson.

I’m so freaking excited for mid April when they supposedly tell me!!!

thanks melonbread that is what I am hoping for too. I hope you get in a lot of places too, you seem like you deserve it! Wouldnt that be amazing if we all got in where we wanted?

CNUtoUNC: good job on Clemson! Now at the very least you have somewhere u will be happy. I hope you make into chapel hill, is it ur number 1? (guessing from ur name haha)

yes Castiel, if we all did, then the book’s title can change to “DREAMS DO COME TRUE” - a totally indulgent spin on our twists of fate, lol .

linala I don’t have to call them cos my ex-college said to me, “oops, we forgot about your transcript.” okay, maybe without the ‘oops’. They’re going to send in by this week, or so they claimed. ((AND, no, I haven’t heard of that band (is it a band?). I’ve been listening to oldies like Piaf and Charles Aznavour, and recently into Phoenix - they sing in English though . I will check ND de Paris out!! ))

melonbread that sounds like a great deal! How very generous of you lol. Do you think you can reduce your uncle’s fee’s to $20 though?? Easier to pass you the 25%
I’m sorry about your interview, I had a bad one too, but if your interviewer’s nice he/she will understand. I, too, feel like I was better at interviews last year, all that charm gone now - sucked into the vortex of endless apps.
