I want to make a career in the United Nations , specifically in the United Nations Development Programme.

The idea is to assist developing countries in economic and social growth and work towards better international cooperation , areas of interest include International relations

I am a software engineer with 3 years of work experinece in the Industry

I have a GRE score of 1500 out of 1600 and a TOEFL score where i missed only a couple of questions ( I dont recall the exact score ) and i was in the top 10 % in my University

I plan to get back to School next year for my Masters

Can anyone guide me which school and specifically which major should i opt for. Also how choosing a particular major will help me in my eventual goal

I have almost a year to before school , is there anything i can do in the meantime to boost my chances to get an admit. For eg : some voluntatry work somewhere ?

My son just got a letter yesterday from Occidental College in Los Angeles saying something about their placement of students into the UN. That is undergraduate, but perhaps you can call that school and ask the graduate admissions person what opportunities are available there and what she/he recommends for volunteering during the next year.

I hear the UNDP could use some better software for hiding all its illegal financial transactions. This North Korea flap is proving to be rather embarrassing...

the UN has degraded into a carnival of tyrants. The men who signed the San Fransisco treaty would be ashamed if they saw what their dream of a better world had become.
