A chances post. woohoo

hey guys, what’s up? i’m here for one of those silly assessments of my chances at brown. i’m a rising senior, and brown is DEFINITELY my first choice right now, so assume i’m applying ed. i know you can’t give me a definite answer, but any sort of input would be great.

…i guess i don’t really have one passion, but i certainly am enthusiastic about all that i do. i think it’s silly to have to weed out one thing that you are completely passionate about when you go through all the you do in high school. i don’t know, maybe that attitude will screw me over for college, but i’ve had a good time doing different things throughout the course of high school.

assume that my essays and recs will be good.

Everything seems to be in place. Your test scores are certainly above average, even for the Brown applicant pool. Your grades are solid and your EC's fine. So, I suggest you get an early start on the personal statement, make sure you give your teachers plenty of time for the recs, and cross your fingers. Because that's really all that you can do. Good Luck. BTW....I think the essay was the "push factor" in my app.

I think it doesn't hurt to be a "well-rounded kid" at Brown, they tend to look at the whole person. I have a son who will be a freshman at Brown who definitely fits that desciption!

Good luck to you, strawberryfields!

thanks guys! i really appreciate your input. :)

I was well-rounded but not very strong in any one area and I got in.

You sound like you have a good shot, especially with ED, but you never know with schools like Brown. Good luck!
