The thing is that i wanna apply for fsc now and i am not clear about till when can i submit the equivalence certificate . Also i just have the online results up till now but will soon have the hardcopy of provisional certificate and will get the real certificate (hard copy ) by october.
The college i am applying to wants me to have the equivalence by september or something they are saying something abt sending the forms are sent to Ibcc board for fsc by sept . Would ve really helpful if u can guide me what exactly i should to do . I am very confused with whats happening . Would be a lot of help if u can guide . And thanks for taking the time to read this long message
Yes! You can get your equivalence certificate made from the Provisional certificate that you will receive. This is make you have a “Temporary equivalence certificate” valid for 3 months after this time you will have to provide IBCC with your actual Certificate so they can make a permanent one later. The temporary one will just be there so you can easily get admission into an institute with your grades. Hope that helps
PinkFlamingo has already given a great answer!
You should know one thing that the admissions for FSC are closed in the better colleges. I hope you’re aware of that and not going to start applying just now. @bshshs
Thankyou so much this really helps
Linkinpark96 oh really . How is PGC( Punjab group of colleges) i heard its good
Well from studies’ point of view, yes it’s really good but there’s nothing college-like about Punjab college. There’s no grooming. The classes environment is like that of a school where you’re not allowed to do anything. There are not many events. The only focus is on getting high marks and nothing else. Basically, it’ll just be like spending another 2 years at school with bad teachers but as adults. It’s the same for most FSC colleges around except maybe for FC since it has a much more diverse environment.
Also why would you want to do FSC after such amazing O level grades? You’ll regret your decision within first two weeks!
Mainly because i heard about pak university giving more importance to fsc tha A levels. Isn’t that so ?
No, they give more importance to those who do well in their entry tests. Except for LUMS/PIEAS, most universities’ test are FSC-based. Does that mean that no A Level students are able to clear those tests? No! You only have to spend 2-3 weeks go through major topics of fsc that were not in A Level.
The rest is on you now but I’m already informing you that you’d be met with a lot of disappointment and surprise because there’s just so much gap in everything from campus life to faculty to academics.
Is fsc not useful in pak ? I have only considered fsc because everyone in pak that i have met goes like if u are applying for uni in pak so u should do fsc as tgey deduct marks for ppl in A levels when making equivalence certificate . And thanku again for guiding me in this cuz i honestly have no idea. What are your subjects?
You can start a pm with me to discuss all of this in detail so we don’t spam the thread. Thank you
How do i do that i thought this the only way of talking on this site
@linkinpark96 Can you please forward the conversation we had in pm? I seem to have accidentally deleted the thread
Hi
I badly need someone to guide me with this.
I did my o levels in 8 subjects (including urdu) and 2 alevels from Dubai.
Dubai uni don’t require 3 subjects in alevels so now I’m in pak and have to do another subject.
1)So am i considered as overseas student even aftr doin one subject in pak?
2) will they consider urdu subject in equivalency?
3) am i supposed to do pak studies or islamiyat?
4) are they going to take just 5 out of 8 subjects in my o levels? If that so, than total won’t be 1100.
Please respond
Thankyou
I’m confused, if I get an A* in biology o levels(example) so they will consider it as a 90? Because o levels have thresholds which means the grade from which A* starts isn’t consistent as you can get an A* in bio by getting 146/200. Does this affect the calculation?I have 3A* 4A 2B so to calculate the equilency you’ll need a grade transcript.
I’ve started one with you already
Pink, I dont think we ever talked in pm. Also I can’t find any of it in my inbox
@MahamK I’m not sure about this scenario. It’s complicated. You should visit their office ASAP.
- Most probably yes
2,3) no since your o level is from overseas, they’ll ignore pak st, islamiyat and urdu
GT has no link with equivalence. A* means 90 in IBCC’s language. The formula is given in the start of thread or look up for o level equivalence in pakistan on youtube, i’ve made a complete video on the topic there, under youth disrupt channel
I want to apply to mbbs in Pakistan under PTAP scheme. My A levels are 2 A stars and 1 grade A. My GCSE results d are somewhat less spectacular with 4As 3bs and one C. Could you kindly first calculate my equivalency because im having great difficulty and i’m stressed over this. Do you then think I can get admission under PTAP.
Many thanks Bro and on behalf of all the students you’ve helped over the years thank you. You are a God Send.
