A Conversation with Princeton’s Director of Financial Aid

Princeton University - Moscato discusses Princeton's leadership in shifting financial aid landscape

For those of you who hadn’t already noticed it, here is an interesting discussion with Robin Moscato, the Director of Princeton’s Financial Aid office. It may help clarify a number of issues related to aid.

is it even worth applying for financial aid (or is it even moral) if your parents make $600,000-ish a year

Of course, I do not have any understanding of your family's financial circumstances, but with that amount of income, why do you even need to CONSIDER applying for financial aid? I live in a very wealthy area with many friends in that income range, and I have never heard of any need for them to apply for fin aid.

No, you will not receive any aid. I don't believe there's anything morally wrong with applying, provided you don't fudge the numbers, but frankly it would be a complete waste of time.

Do you think that they will eventually be forced to go with the 10% of income estimates that H & Y are now using?
